Drink and eat right to relieve PMS

Wholesome diet : Eat healthy, take a lot of green leafy vegetables like spinach, broccoli, asparagus, dandelion greens, beans that are rich in iron, magnesium and calcium. More Greens equates to less pain and fatigue associated with your periods. Also avoid red meats and opt for lean meats or even fish to cut down on saturated fats which aggravate inflammation and thus aggravate pain.

Drink fresh fruit juices: Certain juices especially rich in vitamin C and Bromelain (which is an enzyme that reduces inflammation), help in relaxing the uterine muscles and relieve pain. Don’t forget to add a pinch of ginger when you prepare juice. Fruits recommended for juicing are pineapples, gooseberry, oranges etc.

Cut Down on Coffee: Caffeine, particularly present in coffee constricts blood vessels in our body and therefore the blood vessels around the uterus are tautened more than usual. The tension in the muscles makes the menstrual cramps more pronounced. If you can’t start your day without coffee, then just reduce the quantity and the frequency. It might help.
